Abstract: ABSTRACT A small, clip-on electronic sensor device designed for attachment to both complete and removable partial dentures, providing continuous passive monitoring of denture hygiene status. The device detects biofilm accumulation on the denture surface via changes in surface electrical conductivity and/or local pH at the sensor-denture interface. When biofilm accumulation reaches a clinically significant threshold, the device alerts the patient through two simultaneous output channels: a visible color change of an integrated electrochronnic or LED-based display on the device body, and a wireless push notification delivered to a paired smartphone application. The device is available in two commercial configurations: a single-use disposable version and a rechargeable, reusable version. By providing objective, real-time, patient-facing feedback on denture cleanliness, the device bridges the well-documented gap between clinician hygiene instruction and actual patient compliance, aiming to reduce the prevalence of denture stomatitis and other biofilm-associated mucosal pathologies in denture wearers.
