MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611064608 A) filed by Chandigarh University on May 22, 2026, for Smart Context-Based Emergency Alert System With False Alarm Filtering Mechanism.
Inventor includes Amol Saurav.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for a personal safety device that enhances alert reliability and provides actionable intelligence. It addresses the critical deficiencies of prior art, namely the high incidence of false alarms and the lack of situational context in emergency alerts. The system features a novel multi-stage verification logic, requiring a deliberate, sustained user input to enter a "pre-alert" state, which opens a timed cancellation window to prevent accidental activation. If an alert is confirmed, the device automatically captures a brief, ambient audio snapshot and packages it with real-time GPS coordinates into a "contextual alert payload". This payload is transmitted to pre-determined contacts, providing immediate information on both the user's location and the nature of the emergency. This approach significantly reduces false positives, builds user trust, and enables a more effective and timely emergency response
