MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641105586 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on September 02, 2026, for Smart Communication And Health Monitoring Glove.

Inventors include T. Anoop Chandar; Dr. M. Abdullah; and Dr Ramya Mohan.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The Smart Communication and Health Monitoring Glove is a wearable device designed to assist communication through hand gestures while simultaneously monitoring basic health parameters. The system integrates flex sensors for gesture detection, a MAX30102 sensor for heart rate monitoring, and a DHT11 sensor for temperature and humidity measurement. Using an ESP32 microcontroller, the glove detects finger bending through flex sensors and identifies predefined gestures based on sensor values. These gestures are converted into communication messages and displayed on an OLED screen. The system also sends mobile notifications to a smartphone for remote communication and monitoring. In addition to communication support, the device continuously monitors the user's heart rate and environmental conditions, providing real-time health information. The system operates using a sensor-based threshold detection method, without the use of artificial intelligence or machine learning. Its lightweight and portable design makes it suitable for wearable healthcare and assistive communication applications.
