MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611056039 A) filed by Ashish Kumar; and Dr. Devesh Yadav on May 02, 2026, for Smart Cancer Protection Candy: A Polyherbal Nano-Encapsulated Mucoadhesive Slow-Release Oral Lozenge For Preventive Oral Mucosal Protection.

Abstract: This invention creates a new kind of "slow dissolving" type of candy to use as an oral bidirectional delivery system designed to help with oral preventing health care. It combines the use of nanotechnology (in the form of positive nanoparticles) with natural plant medicines that are designed to increase the amount of these medicines available when used in the mouth and how long they are held in the mouth. The combination of naturally occurring positive nanoparticles alone with other herbal medicines (that include all parts of the plant) creates a matrix from which the positive nanoparticles will gradually release at a constant rate over a period of approximately 20-45 mins. Depending upon how long it takes for one to consume the product, the product will break into tiny particles in the saliva providing the individual with a protective layer of active or living bacteria that can assist in reducing free radicals in the mouth, decreasing the cavities formed due to oral bacteria, and reduce the response to tissue/organ injury from the concerned tissue to the immune system. The new formulation is specifically targeted at high-risk patients who are exposed to tobacco, being a smoker, chewing betel nuts, where there is an increased value for the use of active ingredients contained in the formulation for preventing the development of diseases in the mouth. The new formulation is an innovative, practical, combination of nanotechnology, herbal medicines and easy-to-administer, patient-friendly delivery forms of medicine, to provide an effective means of use for preventive oral healthcare in the future.
