Abstract: SMART BRIDGE SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATION THEREOF ABSTRACT A smart bridge system (100) for automatically increasing a height of a bridge during flood conditions is disclosed herein. The system (100) comprises a water level sensing unit (102) to sense a distance between a water surface and the bridge; a bridge lifting mechanism (104) to increase a height of the bridge; an alert unit (106) to generate an audible alert; a visual indication unit (108) to provide a visual indication; and a controller (110). The system (100) is configured to: receive the continuous real-time sensing data from the water level sensing unit (102); determine whether the received sensing data satisfies threshold values; and actuate the bridge lifting mechanism (104) to increase the height of the bridge. The system (100) facilitates timely flood response through automated bridge elevation and multi-level warning generation, thereby improving operational safety.
