MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641125463 A) filed by K S S Sai; and K N V S S Pavan Kumar on October 21, 2026, for Smart Biometric Vehicle Authorization And Theft Detection System.

Inventors include K S S Sai; and K N V S S Pavan Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The invention provides a vehicle-independent, fail-operational authorization, cybersecurity and theft-response platform combining optional start-switch fingerprint and liveness sampling, speed triggered multimodal driver observation, tokenized age and driving-credential verification, ownership validation, durable or trip-specific owner consent, protected hardware and software integrity monitoring, configurable escalation, GNSS tracking, controlled-driving responses, intelligent communications and privacy-preserving retention. Fingerprint sampling at the start switch provides an initial identity signal when a usable finger is presented, but gloves, failed capture, absent sampling or an uncertain match do not prevent engine or motor start. The vehicle enters a monitored launch mode and, upon reaching a configurable activation threshold of approximately 10 km/h, enables available in-motion sensing including face, iris, voice, driver-camera, seat, helmet independent wearable, device-proximity and behavioral signals. An ordinary helmet requires no electronics; a paired helmet or wearable is only one confidence input and is checked for transfer or misuse. A valid owner-issued authorization may suppress repeated consent prompts while driver presence, licence class, ownership, revocation and theft-status attributes are refreshed in the background. Secure boot, signed software, component attestation, enclosure and circuit monitoring, authenticated diagnostics and configuration- integrity checks distinguish approved maintenance from unauthorized opening, replacement, bypass, reflashing, disconnection or modification. A confirmed or high- confidence tamper event may notify the owner or fleet supervisor and legally authorized security, transport, cybercrime, cybersecurity or law-enforcement recipients. When the fused result indicates an unauthorized user, a child or below-threshold driver, invalid credentials, confirmed theft, unauthorized tampering or elevated risk, the vehicle remains operable and is not abruptly immobilized; instead, a manufacturer-calibrated controlled-driving mode may progressively apply warnings, owner or fleet review, location reporting, safe-route or geofence guidance and a gradual speed or torque ceiling, including an approximately 10 km/h tamper-response ceiling when safety conditions permit, while retaining steering, braking and emergency mobility. The architecture applies to two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, lorries, trucks, buses, auto-rickshaws and fleet vehicles.
