Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart beehive disease detection system for honeybee species including Apis cerana indica, Apis dorsata, and Apis florea. The system integrates a volatile organic compound (VOC) sensing module, a data acquisition unit, and an artificial intelligence (AI)-based analysis platform for real-time monitoring of hive health. The VOC sensors detect disease-related chemical signatures in hive air caused by bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections. The collected data is processed and transmitted to an AI model trained on species-specific VOC profiles to classify hive status as healthy, at risk, or infected. The system generates real- time alerts via mobile application, SMS, or dashboard interface. The invention enables early, non-invasive, and continuous disease detection, improving colony survival, honey production, and operational efficiency in Indian apiculture systems.
