Abstract: The invention provides a smart-backup system for a collaborative content-management platform. The system includes a memory storing one or more processor- executable routines and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to execute one or more processor-executable routines to retrieve properties corresponding to the content-management platform. The platform includes one or more associated subsites and cloud-containers, each of the cloud- containers having folders and associated files. The processor is further configured to list each of the one or more associated subsites and cloud containers using a recursive traversal routine. The processor is further configured to sort each of the listed subsites and cloud-containers based on a last modified time. The processor is further configured to perform an incremental backup of the platform based upon the last modified time.
