Abstract: ABSTRACT: The present invention relates to an intelligent sensor-based dental chair illumination system designed to automatically detect patient presence, identify oral cavity opening, and dynamically focus the dental operating light on the patient's mouth during dental procedures. The system comprises a dental chair integrated with one or more patient presence sensors configured to detect occupancy of the chair, one or more oral cavity detection sensors configured to identify the opening and position of the patient's mouth, a controller configured to process sensor inputs, a motorized dental operating light mounted on adjustable positioning mechanisms, and a manual override interface for operator control. Upon detection of a seated patient, the system enters a standby mode and continuously monitors the oral cavity. When the patient's mouth is detected in an open position, the controller automatically activates the dental operating light and directs the illumination toward the oral cavity. The system continuously tracks head and mouth movements during treatment and automatically adjusts the position and focus of the light through motorized actuators to maintain optimal illumination without requiring manual repositioning. The manual override interface enables the clinician to switch between automatic and conventional manual operation whenever desired. The system may further incorporate adjustable illumination intensity, distance sensing, facial recognition, infrared sensing, depth sensing, voice control, or programmable operating modes to enhance clinical performance and user convenience. The invention minimizes unnecessary hand contact with the dental light, reduces the risk of cross-contamination, improves ergonomic efficiency, ensures consistent illumination throughout dental procedures, conserves energy by activating only when required, and provides a smart, hygienic, and efficient illumination solution for modern dental operatories
