Abstract: ABSTRACT Environmental pollution, freshwater scarcity, and rising energy demands necessitate integrated, sustainable waste-to-energy and resource recovery solutions. To address these challenges, this study proposes a Smart Biorefinery System that integrates wastewater remediation, microalgae cultivation, multi-stage bioenergy generation, and high-value biocompound extraction. The system utilizes municipal or institutional wastewater as a nutrient-rich growth medium for Spirulina microalgae. Real-time operational monitoring is achieved through an integrated IoT biosensing network that continuously tracks biomass density, culture parameters, fermentation dynamics, and gas production rates. Collected data is transmitted to a central loT dashboard to dynamically optimize automated harvesting, bio-ethanol fermentation, anaerobic digestion, and extraction workflows. The system enables multi-product resource recovery to yield clean water for agricultural irrigation, bio- ethanol, biogas, green electricity, organic biofertilizer, and cosmetic-grade phycocyanin powder. By replacing conventional waste disposal with an adaptive, closed- loop processing model, the system mitigates environmental contamination and promotes carbon-neutral energy production. Designed with a modular architecture, the system is suitable for academic, municipal, and industrial deployment. Ultimately, the proposed smart biorefinery provides an automated, cost-effective, and sustainable platform for circular resource management and high-value bioproduct synthesis.
