MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521086687 A) filed by Pandit Deendayal Energy University on September 12, 2025, for Sliding Mode Controlled Pv-Grid Integrated Ev Charging Station With Vehicle-To-Grid (v2g) Harmonic Compensation.
Inventor includes Dr. Alok Jain.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a photovoltaic (PV)-grid integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging station incorporating a Sliding Mode Control (SMC) based control system for enabling bidirectional power flow and real-time harmonic compensation. The system comprises a solar PV array connected to a DC-link through a boost converter, a bidirectional inverter interfacing with the grid and EV battery, and a digital signal processor implementing the SMC algorithm along with harmonic filtering. The SMC dynamically regulates inverter current to maintain unity power factor, suppress harmonic distortion, and ensure stable operation under grid- connected, standalone, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) modes. Real-time measurements of DC-link v6ltage, grid voltage, and current enable seamless mode transitions and adaptive control under varying load and generation conditions. The invention enhances power quality, grid stability, and energy management efficiency, making it suitable for smart grid applications and advanced EV charging infrastructure.
