MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110079 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 14, 2026, for Sleep Disorder Classification System Using Genetic- Algorithm-Optimized Voting Ensemble And Web Deployment.

Inventors include Manikandan K; Mr. Love Yadav; and Mr. Somy Srivastava.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT SLEEP DISORDER CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM USING GENETIC-ALGORITHM-OPTIMIZED VOTING ENSEMBLE AND WEB DEPLOYMENT A sleep disorder classification system (100) classifies a subject into one of three sleep-disorder classes consisting of no disorder, insomnia, and sleep apnea from lifestyle and health features. The system (100) includes a preprocessing module (120) configured to apply label encoding via an encoder (122) to categorical features, min-max normalization via a scaler (124) to numeric features, and synthetic minority oversampling via an oversampler (126) to balance the three sleep- disorder classes. A model training module (130) comprises a decision-tree classifier (132) and a random-forest classifier (134) combined in a voting classifier (136) that outputs a tri-class output label (138). A genetic-algorithm optimizer (140) jointly optimizes hyperparameters of the voting classifier (136) in conjunction with cross- validation and grid search. A web application server (160) comprises an authentication module (162), an input interface (164), a prediction display (166), and a session handler (168) to return the predicted sleep-disorder class in real time.
