MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641072625 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 11, 2026, for Singular-Module Zoned Lighting System.
Inventors include S. Sandosh; K. M. Monica; K. Kabilan; E. Sudheer Kumar; Avishi Prasad; Catherine George; and Ayush Dwivedi.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a singular-module zoned lighting system (100), includes a housing (102), light-emitting diode (LED) lighting zones (102-1, 102-2, …, 102-N), a microwave motion sensor (104), an ambient light sensor (106), a ultrasonic spatial-positioning sensor (108), a processing module (110), and a wireless communication module (116) configured to communicate with a mobile device (118) having a user interface (120). The processing module (110) detects occupancy within an illuminated area based on first sensor data, determines an ambient light level based on ambient light data, and determines distance information relative to surrounding boundaries based on measurement data. The processing module (110) drives the plurality of LED lighting zones (102-1, 102-2, …, 102-N) at different light intensities to selectively illuminate occupied areas and compensate for off-centre placement.
