MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641111265 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 14, 2026, for Single-Use Authorisation Of Software Agent Operations Via Mechanically Nucleated Phase-Change Entropy.
Inventors include Subramaniyas Wamy V; and Abhijai S.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT SINGLE-USE AUTHORISATION OF SOFTWARE AGENT OPERATIONS VIA MECHANICALLY NUCLEATED PHASE-CHANGE ENTROPY A method for single-use authorisation of an operation requested by a software agent is provided. The method includes maintaining a phase-change medium (204) in a metastable supercooled liquid state within a thermally isolated cavity (202) by active thermal bias (206) at a temperature below a melting point of the phase-change medium (204). The method includes receiving, from an authorisation gateway (122), a challenge comprising a nonce (408) and a digest of the operation (410). The method includes receiving a mechanical impulse at a nucleation interface (210), the mechanical impulse seeding crystal nucleation in the phase-change medium (204) and causing solidification into a dendritic structure. The method includes capturing, by an imaging head (214), a morphology of the dendritic structure. The method includes extracting a morphology digest (406) representing cryptographic entropy generated by the solidification. The method includes composing a proof object comprising the morphology digest (406), the nonce (408), and the digest of the operation (410), signing the proof object with a secure element (220) to produce a signed proof object (416), and transmitting the signed proof object (416) to the authorisation gateway (122). The method includes verifying the signed proof object (416) through a gating sequence (500) and, upon clearance, deriving a one-shot cryptographic material using the morphology digest (406) as input to a key-derivation function and releasing the operation.
