Abstract: The present invention discloses a single-switch hybrid cascaded multi-inductor DC-DC converter (101) configured to generate dual independently regulated output voltages from a single DC input source. The converter comprises a coordinated three-inductor energy storage network, a cascaded capacitor-diode energy transfer network, a single active switching device, and dual output stages. The coordinated charging and discharging of the inductors together with cascaded capacitive energy transfer enable generation of two independently regulated output voltages while reducing component count, switching stress, output voltage ripple, output current ripple, and cross-regulation between the outputs. The transformer-less converter employs a simple single-switch control strategy and provides improved conversion efficiency with compact implementation. The converter is suitable for photovoltaic systems, renewable energy systems, smart utility poles, communication devices, surveillance systems, USB charging ports, and other distributed DC power applications.
