Abstract: A single-inductor single-input dual-output buck converter system includes an input voltage source (100), an inductor (102) configured to carry an inductor current (104), a first output port having a first capacitor (106) connected in parallel with a first resistor (108) and configured to provide a first output voltage (110), a second output port having a second capacitor (112) connected in parallel with a second resistor (114) and configured to provide a second output voltage (116), a first switch (118) configured to selectively connect the inductor (102) to the first output port, a second switch (120) configured to control energy transfer from the input voltage source (100) to the inductor (102), a third switch (122) configured to selectively connect the inductor (102) to the second output port, a diode (124) configured to provide a freewheeling path for the inductor current (104), and a hierarchical controller. The hierarchical controller computes a first virtual control input (126) and a second virtual control input (128) representing partitioned inductor currents, generates a first duty cycle (132) and a second duty cycle (134) for controlling the switches to regulate the output voltages independently.
