Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a silent power line carrier-based fault signaling and localization system for three-phase electric vehicle charging feeders. The system comprises a voltage sensing unit, a current sensing unit, a fault analysis controller, a carrier modulation encoder, a power line carrier transmitter, a carrier receiver, a fault decoder, a fault localization engine, a priority protection channel, and a protection actuator. Upon detection of a fault, fault attributes including fault type, affected phase, and fault severity are encoded directly into carrier modulation parameters and transmitted through existing power conductors without packet- based communication. The received carrier signal is decoded and analyzed to estimate fault location using carrier attenuation, phase distortion, propagation delay, and time-of-flight characteristics. A dedicated priority protection channel enables rapid isolation of electric vehicle charging converters. The invention reduces communication latency, eliminates dependence on separate communication networks, improves fault localization accuracy, and enhances safety and reliability of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
