Abstract: A signal reliability–driven multimodal prosthetic control system (100) is disclosed. The system (100) includes a neural biopotential sensing interface (102), a muscular biopotential sensing interface (104), and a tactile sensing interface (106), which provide inputs for generating motor commands for a prosthetic hand (108) for operation by a user (110). A contact impedance monitoring circuit of muscular biopotential sensing interface (104) evaluates skin-electrode interface quality and computes a signal reliability index for at least one sensing channel. The signal reliability index is fed into a model adaptation operation to dynamically adjust inference weighting across sensing channels during intent prediction, so as to maintain stable actuation under variable signal conditions. Tactile sensing interface (106) detects pressure and vibration indicative of slip, wherein slip triggers a low-latency reflex operation that increases motor torque, and provides vibrotactile feedback to user (110).
