This impact absorbing structure 2 is composed of: a cross-sectional hollow member 4 provided along a vehicle front-rear direction within the closed cross-sectional space 3 so as to vertically partition the closed cross-sectional space 3; and bulk heads 6, which are members for partitioning a closed cross-sectional space 5 of the cross-sectional hollow member 4 by being provided along a vehicle width direction within the closed cross-sectional space 5, and are provided at a plurality of places spaced apart in the vehicle front-rear direction within the closed cross- sectional space 5. Each bulk head 6 is joined to the inner wall of the cross-sectional hollow member 4.
