Abstract: A mooring buoy configured for mooring a floating body on water, including a buoyancy having a first surface as top facing upwards from the water, a second surface as bottom facing downwards and an intermediate tubular shape extending along a body axis between the first and second surfaces; the buoyancy being coupled to an anchoring device below the water by a pair of anchoring chains, and provided with two parallel linear through-holes, the through-holes extending through the buoyancy from bottom to top; the top of the buoyancy provided with chain ratchets for connecting each of the anchoring chains to one of the chain ratchets through a respective through-hole; the through-holes being spaced apart in the buoyancy and defining a chain guiding plane between the through-holes extending from the bottom to the top, the buoyancy having a centre of buoyancy with a location thereof displaced out of the chain guiding plane.
