MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202523028814 A) filed by Dishant Mehta; and Chetana Mehta on March 26, 2025, for Shoe With Improved Closing And Opening Mechanism.

Inventors include Dishant Mehta; and Chetana Mehta.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved shoe closing and opening mechanism (100) that enhances user convenience and simplifies the shoe structure. The mechanism features an L-shaped back-stay lever (2) that functions as both a locking and unlocking component, eliminating the need for a separate closing button. The L-shaped back-stay lever (2) is directly linked to two L-shaped arms (1, 3), enabling synchronized movement for smooth shoe expansion and closure. A pin plunger (5) secures the shoe in a closed position by engaging with the L-shaped back-stay lever (2). An opening button (4), coupled to the pin plunger (5), unlocks the L-shaped back-stay lever (2) when pressed, allowing outward rotation of the L-shaped arms (1, 3) for shoe expansion. This improved mechanism ensures smooth functionality, enhanced durability, and a simplified structure by integrating both unlocking and locking functions into the L-shaped back-stay lever (2).
