MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511016994 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 26, 2025, for Shoe Lace Tying Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. Mukesh Chandra Pokhriyal; and Dr. Nipin Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A shoe lace tying assistive device, comprising a pair of rectangular bodies 101, positioned on tongue of a shoe worn by a user, a pair of cylindrical members 102 arranged on each of members 102, each equipped with a pair of pneumatic pins 103 to extend, a LED (Light 104 Emitting Diode) light 104 crafted on one of bodies 101 to illuminate for indicating user to engage laces of shoes with pins 103, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 for detecting presence of laces over pins 103, a BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) motor coupled with each of members 102 to rotate for wrapping laces, an L-shaped unit 106 configured with each of members 102 via a motorized hinge 107 for tilting and deploying units 106 to lock laces between members 102 and units 106.
