Abstract: In the present invention, a shock absorber (10) includes an outer tube (20), an inner tube (30) fitted to the outer tube (20), a sliding member (40) provided on one end (21) of the outer tube (20), a surrounding member (70) capable of moving relative to the inner tube (30), and a damping force generation unit (100) formed on an outer peripheral surface (41) of the sliding member (40) along an axial direction (Rs). The sliding member (40) has a rod (50) that extends from the one end (21) of the outer tube (20) to the inside (34) of the inner tube (30), and a first partition wall (60) that is provided to the rod (50) and is in sliding contact with the inner peripheral surface (35) of the inner tube (30). The surrounding member (70) surrounds the outer peripheral surface (41) of the sliding member (40). The damping force generation unit (100) can generate damping force between the damping force generation unit (100) and the inner peripheral surface (71) of the surrounding member (70).
