MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641126751 A) filed by Bapatla Surendra; and Irukumalli Priyanka on October 23, 2026, for Shape-Locking Light-Guiding Net Enclosure With Preload-Biased Microbend Sensing Of Cargo Mass Loss, Wetting And Tampering.
Inventors include Bapatla Surendra Babu; and Irukumalli Priyanka.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: SHAPE-LOCKING LIGHT-GUIDING NET ENCLOSURE WITH PRELOAD-BIASED MICROBEND SENSING OF CARGO MASS LOSS, WETTING AND TAMPERING A shape-locking sensing enclosure (100) holds an irregular object (102) in a mesh of tensioning cords (108) joined at node sleeves (110). Light-guiding load strands (112) pass through microbend deformers in the node sleeves that bear the object. A ratchet retainer (118) holds the cords through a series tensioner spring (120) at a preload of 2.0 to 6.0 times the weight share at one node, and each deformer seats at 2.5 to 3.5 times that share. The one preload locks the sleeves on the cords and biases the deformers to a reference state, so locking calibrates the sensor for any object mass. A crown reference strand (116) cancels drift and creep, so a 5 % mass loss is detected. Contact strands (114) separate leakage from wetting, a gap-coupled lock strand records opening, and a necked witness link (130) records drops, with no electronics in the net. FIG. 1
