The method also includes selecting at least one communication mode from the one or more supported communication modes, and transmitting a configuration message to the tethering group including an indication of at least one configuration for communication with the tethering group. The method additionally includes scheduling one or more resources for transmission of data to the tethering group over links between the radio access node and respective ones of the user equipment and the at least one other user equipment that are configured to detect and decode the data based on one of the at least one communication mode.
