MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611102018 A) filed by Manipal University Jaipur on August 24, 2026, for Serinity –a Multi Agent Ai System For Longitudinal Psychiatric Screening.

Inventors include Amogh Gupta; Dr. Arpita Baronia; and Dr. Virendra Kumar Meghwal.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-driven psychiatric screening and conversational support system that performs adaptive patient interaction, clinical analysis, risk detection, and longitudinal profile management. The present system comprises a first language model (LLM1) that conducts patient conversations and generates an intent indication and an initial risk indication for each patient message; an intent router selectively invokes a second language model (LLM2) for deeper psychopathological analysis based on predefined clinical dimensions, while a safety cascade can override the routing when a risk condition is detected. The safety cascade combines deterministic keyword detection, a machine-learning-based self-harm classifier, the LLM1 risk indication, and an independent clinical risk assessment from LLM2. A hybrid retrieval engine combines lexical and semantic retrieval of psychiatric reference information. A third language model (LLM3) synthesizes session information with previously stored patient profiles to maintain longitudinal clinical memory. The system further supports automatic idle-session closure, speech and vocal-emotion analysis, and provider-independent modular architecture, thereby enabling scalable, cost-efficient, and safety-oriented psychiatric screening.
