Abstract: The present invention discloses a sequential relay irrigation system for automated and efficient multi-zone irrigation management in agricultural environments. The system comprises a central controller unit, relay modules, electronically actuated irrigation valves, moisture-target sensors, and flow-check sensors operatively connected to a main water pump and water distribution network. The controller sequentially activates irrigation zones one at a time through relay-controlled valves based on event-driven logic and real- time soil moisture conditions. Each zone is irrigated until a predefined moisture threshold is achieved, after which the system automatically shifts irrigation to the next zone. The flow-check sensors verify water flow and detect faults including clogged pipelines, valve malfunction, and dry-run conditions. The invention minimizes water wastage, reduces energy consumption, prevents pump overloading, and enhances irrigation reliability. The system further supports programmable scheduling, manual override, fault protection, and optional wireless monitoring for sustainable and cost-effective precision agriculture applications.
