Inventors include Shantanu Anand Bele; Mayur Arjun Pawar; Dr. Manojkumar Mukundrao Nitalikar; Dr. Indrayani Sandip Bandgar; and Dr. Shrinivas Krishna Mohite.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a sequential dose-numbering system for antibiotic blister packaging wherein sequential integers from 1 to N are printed on the front face of the primary packaging material adjacent to each blister cavity, and abbreviated time-of-dose indicators such as MOR and EVE are printed on the reverse lidding foil. The system provides an unambiguous, non-digital, embedded visual adherence guide that eliminates patient confusion regarding dose sequence and timing. Compatible with existing PVC-Alu and Alu-Alu blister manufacturing infrastructure, the system requires only artwork modification to the lidding foil printing die without change to formulation, blister cavity design, or equipment. A simulated observational study demonstrated improvement in full course completion from 62% to 88% and reduction in missed doses from 31% to 9%. The invention supports WHO antimicrobial stewardship objectives by ensuring correct dose, correct time, and full duration of antibiotic therapy, thereby reducing antimicrobial resistance.
