The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: In response to the growing need for enhanced accuracy and efficiency in radiological diagnostics, particularly in complex sinonasal anatomy, our project focuses on developing an innovative AIpowered tool, Septalyze. This system is designed to create an objective and automated platform for the analysis of 128-slice CT scans, ensuring precise and effective management of pre-operative diagnostics. It analyzes scans for two critical, and often co-existing, conditions: Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS) and Concha Bullosa (CB).The Septalyze system acts as a central analytical engine, utilizing a deep learning algorithm trained on a vast, validated dataset of specialist-annotated CT images. This Al model serves as the core authority, ensuring compliance with high diagnostic standards and maintaining the integrity of the analysis. It is designed to be integrated into the existing radiological workflow, providing a powerful aid to ENT surgeons and radiologists.Once a 128-slice CT scan is processed, the Al provides a comprehensive report, automatically detecting the presence of Concha Bullosa and precisely measuring the angle and location of any Nasal Septum Deviation. The core Al model, managed and refined through continuous validation, ensures transparency, reproducibility, and a high-level oversight of the diagnostic suggestions. While the clinician retains complete control over the final diagnosis, the system provides them with rapid, quantitative, and reliable data to support their clinical decisions. This AI-driven application addresses critical challenges in manual scan interpretation, such as inter-observer variability, diagnostic time- consumption, and the risk of overlooking subtle pathologies. By effectively bridging the gap between complex imaging data and actionable clinical insights, Septalyze promotes diagnostic confidence and efficiency in pre-operative planning, ultimately contributing to improved surgical outcomes and patient care.
