Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, the described techniques provide for configurations of multiple power control adjustment states for calculating an uplink transmit power for sounding reference signal (CRS) transmissions, where each power control adjustment state of the multiple power control adjustment states is separate from, and used independently of, power control adjustment states for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmissions. A user equipment (UE) may receive one or more messages indicating a configuration of the multiple power control adjustment states. The UE may identify a power control adjustment state from the multiple power control adjustment states for transmitting one or more SRSs via an uplink component carrier. The UE may transmit the one or more SRSs via the uplink component carrier using a transmit power that may be based on the identified power control adjustment state for a corresponding SRS resource set.
