Abstract: ABSTRACT: Sensor-Independent Satellite-Based System for Autonomous GLOF Prediction and Early Warning This invention describes a sensor-independent, satellite-driven autonomous system for large-scale prediction and early warning of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs). The system utilizes multi-temporal, multi-source satellite data to monitor glacial lakes globally without reliance on ground-based instrumentation. It employs machine learning-based classification for glacier and lake detection, automated extraction of geophysical and meteorological parameters, and consolidation into a temporal input stack. An anomaly detection module identifies emerging hazardous states, while a bootstrap ensemble meta-model generates probabilistic GLOF likelihood scores. Spatial probability maps are continuously updated, and a four-tier alert system disseminates warnings through multiple communication channels. A feedback mechanism enables continuous model retraining using confirmed events. The invention enables scalable, real- time, and cost-effective disaster prediction across inaccessible glaciated terrains worldwide.
