Abstract: The Sensor-Based Smart Water Tank Level Controller is an intelligent water management system designed to monitor and control the water level in storage tanks automatically. Traditional water tank systems depend on manual observation or basic float mechanisms, which often result in water overflow, dry running of motors, and unnecessary electricity consumption. This invention provides an efficient and automated solution by integrating water level sensors, motor control circuits, and- smart monitoring functions to ensure proper water usage and reliable tank maintenance. The system consists of water level sensors, a microcontroller unit, relay-based motor switching circuit, overflow protection mechanism, dry-run prevention system, and an optional mobile notification feature. The sensors continuously detect the water level inside the tank and send signals to the controller. When the water level falls below the minimum threshold, the controller automatically turns on the water pump. Once the tank reaches the maximum level, the motor is switched off automatically to prevent overflow. Additional safety features such as dry-run protection prevent motor damage when there is no water supply from the source. Optional IoT connectivity allows users to monitor tank status remotely through a mobile application. The system is suitable for homes, apartments, industries, schools, hospitals, and agricultural water storage systems. This invention improves water conservation, reduces electricity wastage, minimizes human effort, and enhances motor life. The Sensor-Based Smart Water Tank Level Controller provides a practical, reliable, and cost-effective solution for modern water management through automation, safety, and efficient resource utilization.
