The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT SENSOR-BASED DEVICE FOR REAL-TIME MONITORING OF WATER STRESS IN PLANTS AND METHOD THEREOF The present invention provides a handheld, portable device (100) for detecting the real-time water stress in plants. This device uses a non-invasive infra-red (IR) thermography technique to capture the surface temperature of the leaves and reference surfaces (105), to calculate the Crop Water Stress Index (CWSI) of the plants. This invention enables real time monitoring of the water requirement of plants and aids in precision irrigation to increase the yield of agricultural crops.
