MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611056180 A) filed by Vivekananda Institute Of Professional Studies - Technical Campus on May 03, 2026, for Self-Sustaining Smart Eyewear Proximity Security System With Solar Harvesting And Identity Rotation.

Inventor includes Dr. Deepika Bhatia.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to wearable security electronics, and particularly to a self-sustaining smart eyewear proximity security system and method integrated into a spectacle frame temple. A flexible thin-film solar array is mounted within a recessed temple housing beneath a transparent recess window and supplies harvested energy through a charging path to a micro-lithium polymer battery. An ultra-low-power Bluetooth microcontroller operates from the battery to maintain a Bluetooth Low Energy tether with an authenticated smartphone, evaluate received signal strength indicator data or packet continuity against stored thresholds and persistence criteria, and actuate a piezo-electric buzzer upon a separation condition. The microcontroller further performs periodic wireless identity rotation together with transmission of verification data enabling recognition by the authenticated smartphone.
