MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511017842 A) filed by Amity International School on February 28, 2025, for Self-Sustaining Micro-Farm System.

Inventors include Mukta Singh; Viraj Khanna; and Aditya Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a self-sustaining micro-farm system configured for controlled plant nurturing within an enclosed environment. The system comprises a recycled plastic housing (1) having smoked acrylic walls, a plurality of LED lighting means (2) arranged to regulate illumination, a water reservoir (3) positioned beneath plants, an absorbent thread (4) enabling capillary-based moisture delivery, and a ventilation means (5) comprising a built-in fan for airflow regulation. The capillary mechanism allows controlled and steady hydration with minimal human intervention, while the lighting means (2) support efficient indoor growth by adjusting illumination conditions to prevent adverse impact on plant harvest. The system further enables adaptive programming of water consumption rates based on environmental factors and allows manual operation and adjustment of plant density. The invention provides an efficient, economical, and environmentally sustainable solution for plant care and maintenance. Accompanied Drawing [Figure 1]
