Abstract: TITLE: SELF-POWERED AI SMART DENTURE WITH SALIVA-DRIVEN BIOFUEL CELL FOR CONTINUOUS ORAL RISK ASSESSMENT APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI AMMAL DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a self-powered artificial intelligence smart denture for continuous oral risk assessment and preventive management. The smart denture comprises a biocompatible acrylic resin denture base having a salivary pH sensor embedded on a tissue-contacting surface for continuous measurement of salivary pH. A microcontroller receives, records, and preprocesses the pH data and a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication module wirelessly transmits the processed data to a smartphone application. A saliva-powered biofuel cell integrated within the denture base comprises enzyme-coated electrodes configured to catalyze electrochemical reactions of salivary constituents including glucose, lactate, and salivary enzymes to generate electrical energy for operating the sensor, microcontroller, and BLE module. The smartphone application analyzes frequency, duration, and severity of acidic episodes using a personalized oral risk assessment algorithm, classifies oral risk, and provides preventive alerts and recommendations. The application further enables appointment scheduling and remote clinical supervision, thereby facilitating autonomous, long-term oral monitoring without rechargeable batteries or external power sources.
