Inventors include Mrs. Sapana Patil; Ms. Divya J Kanojiya; Ms. Sweta B. Besh; and Dr. Maitri Mahant.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: Abstract The present invention relates to the fields of pharmaceutical sciences, drug delivery technology, lipid-based drug delivery systems, and phytopharmacology. More specifically, the invention pertains to a self-nano emulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS) comprising a specific combination of an oil phase, non-ionic surfactant(s), and co-surfactant(s) in defined weight ratios that spontaneously forms a nanoemulsion of droplet size 20 nm to 200 nm upon dilution with aqueous gastrointestinal fluids, incorporating standardized herbal active pharmaceutical ingredients comprising curcumin from Curcuma longa L. (haldi), piperine from Piper nigrum L. (kali mirch), withanolides from Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal (ashwagandha), boswellic acids from Boswellia serrata Roxb. ex Colebr. (shallaki), and trigonelline from Trigonella foenum-graecum L. (methi); and to methods of preparing, characterizing, and administering such systems for enhanced oral bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy across multiple disease indications including inflammatory conditions, metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative disease, and cancer chemoprevention.
