Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention introduces a Self-Locking Bracket Positioning Tweezer with Automatic Release, an improved orthodontic instrument designed to facilitate accurate placement of orthodontic brackets while minimizing operator effort and bracket slippage. The instrument incorporates a spring-assisted self-locking mechanism within the tweezer beaks that securely grips orthodontic brackets without requiring continuous squeezing by the clinician. A controlled automatic release mechanism disengages the bracket when gentle pressure is applied against the tooth surface, allowing precise bracket positioning without disturbing the adhesive layer. This innovation addresses the common clinical challenge of accidental bracket displacement during bonding procedures, particularly in posterior regions and difficult- to-access areas. The ergonomic locking mechanism improves clinician comfort, reduces hand fatigue, shortens chairside time, and enhances bonding accuracy. The instrument is compatible with metal, ceramic, self-ligating, and customized orthodontic brackets and is manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel suitable for repeated sterilization.
