MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101516 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Self-Locating Spectacles With Embedded Wireless Tracking And Directional Vibration System.
Inventors include Nainmeet Kaur; Manjit Singh; and Ranjit Singh.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a self-locating spectacle system incorporating embedded wireless tracking and directional vibration guidance for efficient recovery of misplaced eyewear. The system comprises Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Ultra-Wideband (UWB) communication modules, directional vibration motors, an accelerometer, a microcontroller, and a rechargeable power source integrated within the spectacle frame. Upon receiving a locating command from a paired mobile application, the system determines the relative direction and distance of the spectacles and activates the corresponding left or right vibration motor with variable intensity to guide the user. An AI-assisted prediction module analyzes historical usage patterns to identify probable last-known locations, thereby improving retrieval efficiency. The accelerometer detects lifting or wearing motion and automatically terminates the locating operation. The invention eliminates the need for external tracking tags while providing an integrated, compact, and user-friendly solution for accurate and reliable eyewear location assistance.
