Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and specifically to a self-healing HPLC column designed to enhance durability and performance. The column comprises a stationary phase integrated with a self-healing agent, enclosed within a durable column housing capable of withstanding high pressures and chemical exposure. A stimuli-responsive trigger is incorporated to activate the self-healing agent in response to specific stimuli such as temperature changes, pH variations, or mechanical stress, thereby initiating a healing process to repair minor damages. The flow distribution system, including inlet and outlet fittings, ensures even distribution of the mobile phase across the stationary phase, while protective coatings provide additional protection against chemical and physical damage. The self-healing agent may involve reversible chemical reactions or physical interactions, such as Diels-Alder reactions or hydrogen bonding, and can be activated through thermal or chemical means.
