MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109554 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Self-Cleaning Multimodal Probe For Bulk Grain Monitoring.

Inventors include Prakash Singh; Nakul Singh; Nikhil Kumar; Piyush Saraswat; and Rachana Singh Sisodia.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a grain-monitoring probe having an enclosure with a sensor-exposure region that admits acoustic energy and interstitial gas while inhibiting grain debris. A microphone, a volatile-organic-compound sensor, and temperature and humidity sensors provide signals to a processor. A piezoelectric actuator vibrates the sensor- exposure region, and a long-range radio transceiver communicates alerts. The processor derives an acoustic pest estimate, a baseline-compensated fungal estimate, a fused condition estimate, and a sensor-health metric. Upon degradation of the sensor-health metric, the processor actuates the piezoelectric actuator to dislodge debris and obtains subsequent sensor signals. A site-specific threshold and temporal confirmation are applied to the fused condition estimate, after which the transceiver sends a prioritized alert when a confirmed threshold crossing occurs.
