Abstract: The present invention discloses a self-calibrating electro-optical dust and particulate matter ($ ext{PM}_{2.5}$) sensor module featuring an active vacuum airflow design for high-fidelity environmental telemetry. The module integrates a dark polymer housing configured with a geometric internal light-trap labyrinth that allows continuous airflow while completely isolating an internal optical sensing zone from external ambient light contamination. An optoelectronic array, comprising a monochromatic light emitter (such as a semiconductor laser diode) and a photosensitive receiver (such as a photodiode or light-dependent resistor), is positioned at a calibrated geometric angle within the labyrinth to capture elastically scattered light from airborne particulates based on the principle of Mie scattering. A miniature 5V DC exhaust motor is sealed directly onto a chamber exit port to pull a continuous volumetric air sample at a uniform velocity across the optical path, establishing an internal low-pressure vacuum zone that eliminates data stagnation, minimizes particle settlement, and reduces baseline drift.
