The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: A self-calibrating device (100) detects and classifies clogging of an individual drip irrigation emitter (102). A housing (103) connected between a lateral (101) and the emitter carries a pressure sensing unit (104), an optional flow sensing unit (105), a diagnostic valve (118), a processing unit (106) and an indication unit (109). During calibration, the emitter's own baseline hydraulic response signature (114), comprising its flow-pressure relation and the time constant of pressure decay after valve closure, is stored. During monitoring, a diagnostic hydraulic event is detected or induced, the current response is measured, and a clogging index is computed relative to the flow expected at the current pressure, so that supply-pressure changes are not reported as clogging. The emitter is classified as normal, partially clogged or severely clogged against two thresholds and indicated by lamps and a buzzer, optionally wirelessly. The baseline is refreshed only within a drift limit.
