MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110335 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 14, 2026, for Self-Balancing Foldable Laptop Stand With Phase-Change Thermal Management.

Inventors include Ruby; and Nupur Aggarwal.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to a portable laptop stand integrating passive thermal management, self-balancing support and self-healing features. A foldable aluminum frame carries a phase-change module containing paraffin-based phase-change material in a self-healing polymer shell. Heat generated by a laptop is distributed through graphite and aluminum sheets and absorbed by the phase-change material during a solid-to-liquid phase transition. A gyroscopic or spring-damped base shifts load distribution and auto-adjusts the stand within ±15° on an uneven surface. Self-healing polymer coating repairs scratches and scuffs, while self-healing material associated with the phase-change capsules addresses micro-cracks and leakage; self-healing elastomers are provided at folding joints. A thermochromic strip may provide visual indication of temperature change. The stand has folded dimensions of 25 × 18 × 2 cm and a mass of less than 1.2 kg, with optional USB-C fan, cable slots and docking points.
