MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631112209 A) filed by Tarasafe International Pvt. Ltd. on September 18, 2026, for Self-Activating Flame And Arc Resistant Barrier For Arc Flash Protection.

Inventor includes Prashant Verma.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT Self-Activating Flame and Arc Resistant Barrier for Arc Flash Protection The present invention relates to a self-activating flame- and arc-resistant barrier device for providing rapid physical protection to a user during an electrical discharge event, particularly an arc flash event. The device comprises an optical sensor (301) configured to detect predetermined characteristics associated with an electrical discharge and an actuator unit (300) operatively coupled to an expandable protective barrier. Upon detection of the predetermined characteristics, the actuator unit (300) automatically deploys the expandable protective barrier to shield one or more vital regions of the user from thermal radiation, flame, hot gases, plasma discharge, and electrically generated projectiles or molten material. A manual activation interface is further provided to enable pre-emptive deployment by bypassing the optical sensor logic (301) when conditions indicating an imminent electrical event are observed. The device provides rapid, user-focused protection and may operate as a standalone personnel safety system.
