MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110286 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 14, 2026, for Seismofloat - Ai-Powered Magnetic Levitation System For Earthquake Isolation And Building Stabilization.
Inventors include Deepak Kumar; and Shaman Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: An earthquake isolation and building stabilization system comprises a seismic sensor mesh (101), AI predictive control hub (102), a graphene burst power system (103), magnetic levitation pods (104), an adaptive stabilization frame (105), and a self-recovery foundation mechanism (106). The sensor mesh detects seismic activity and supplies data to the AI hub, which assesses the event and initiates discharge of graphene-based supercapacitors. The discharged energy actuates the magnetic levitation pods beneath primary load points to elevate a building by approximately 30–50 cm and separate the building from seismic ground motion. The adaptive stabilization frame uses gyroscopic sensing and hydraulic actuation to maintain balance while the building is suspended. After seismic activity subsides, the self-recovery mechanism lowers and realigns the building and engages safety clamps or foundation locks (111). Multiple buildings may be coordinated through a networked safety arrangement (108). The system is suitable for modular retrofit of existing structures.
