Abstract: The present invention relates to a security management system and method for an Internet of Things (IoT) and sensor network including IoT devices (106) and sensor nodes (108). The system includes a memory (102) and a processor (104) configured to receive device information and network communication data, identify connected devices, and determine resource characteristics including processing capability, memory capacity, communication capability, and available energy. The processor authenticates the devices, monitors communication and operational behaviour, detects security events, classifies detected threats, and determines corresponding threat levels. Based on the threat level and resource characteristics, the processor dynamically selects and executes an appropriate security response, including authentication, access restriction, encryption, device isolation, credential update, security policy modification, or firmware update.
