MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541017903 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on February 28, 2025, for Securing Communication Between Transmitters And Receivers In A Wireless Network.
Inventor includes Jayati Dutta.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides an optimized protocol for secure communication in satellite-assisted networks with a lightweight and cost-effective implementation. A satellite operates as a transparent relay and classifies user equipment (UE) into operating regions based on a physical-layer signal-quality metric, such as Signal-to- Noise Ratio (SNR). In a high-SNR region, security is enforced using Attribute-Based Broadcast Encryption (ABBE) combined with ZUC-PRN symmetric encryption and elliptic-curve-based certificate authentication. In lower-SNR regions, a simplified ABBE scheme is applied to reduce computational overhead. Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) enables fine-grained access control based on user attributes. The Authentication and Key Agreement (AKA) protocol supports region-specific authentication and secure session key establishment. The decentralized and adaptive design reduces communication overhead, supports dynamic SNR variations with efficient revocation, and maintains robust confidentiality, integrity, and mutual authentication across satellite-assisted wireless environments.
