MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611093093 A) filed by Manipal University Jaipur on July 31, 2026, for Secure Iot-Based Image Steganography System For Confidential Data Transmission And Storage.
Inventors include Prashant Hemrajani; and Varsha Himthani.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a secure IoT-based image steganography system for confidential data transmission and storage. The system comprises an image acquisition and preprocessing module to receive and normalize cover and secret images; an artificial intelligence-based embedding module employing U-Net, V-Net, or U-Net++ networks to generate stego images; and a convolutional neural network decoder for secret image extraction. The system further includes sensor integration, edge computing devices, federated learning for privacy-preserving model training, and a private blockchain with smart contracts for secure data management and role- based access control. TensorFlow Lite enables real-time inference on edge devices, providing secure, low-latency image steganography with high image quality and tamper-resistant communication. The invention proposes the integration of these technologies to implement secure, real-time communication suitable for medical applications, military defense, surveillance, and smart IoT environments while maintaining high image quality and tamper-resistant data transmission.
