The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: A secure network appliance that enforces a multi-stage authenticated boot process to ensure system integrity. The network appliance includes a Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) containing one or more databases, a boot loader, and a kernel. During a secure boot sequence, the UEFI verifies the boot loader against the databases and either loads the boot loader or blocks its execution based on the validation result. Upon loading, the boot loader validates a kernel using the information in the databases and loads or blocks the kernel. After a kernel is loaded, the kernel further authenticates an initial ram file system (initramfs) using a designated initramfs key, and mounts the initramfs upon successful verification.
